Nature Club is starting!

We are excited to be offering a Wednesday Homeschool Nature club starting next week. I have so many fun ideas and learning I want to focus on. I learned from camp this summer the ages needs to be 6 - 10 (although 5 year olds may come with permission). It will meet every Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM. We will have lunch on the playground until 1:00 PM.

There is a ton of content out there I plan to use for inspiration. I have all the 4H horsebooks, which have some great information, although some 4H books focus a lot on “showing” horses, which has never been enjoyable to me. There are many other resources out there, I can’t wait to start studying more.

My 4 kids will be participating in the Nature Club, or at least out in the barn doing their barn chores. I am going to keep the group of kids very small in the beginning, maybe a maximum of 4 kids (outside of my own). We are going to focus mostly on horse safety, care, grooming, health, and the therapeutic benefits of being around horses. My main focus for anyone in my barn is to help them learn about horses, learn to appreciate how incredible these animals are, become comfortable with my animals AND still be safe, and lastly, to benefit from the emotional awareness and control required for anyone who is around horses.
