We get by with a little help from our friends…
It takes a village to make this nonprofit work. We have all kinds of tools such as software, hardware and service providers for assistance. We have an incredible village. Every single day I’m thankful. Not everyone is listed here, it’s an ongoing list.
These people listed, I just want to shout from the rooftops how awesome they are.
LOCAL:
Tack Shack of Oviedo: we buy our haaaaay and animal feed. And tack supplies. And most horsey medicine. We love this place. And give them most of our money.
Dr. Jon Seiler: I love this man. I have learned so much from him, about horses, about life. I have thought MANY times how I’m not sure how to be a horse owner without Dr. Seiler in my life. He is so smart, he has so much experience and the best part - he is so patient and teaches us so much.
Bill McCurdy: Our extraordinary farrier, he keeps ALL our horses sound, healthy and is hilarious also. I don’t even know what to link - he is completely busy through word of mouth. Impressive. He is a “redneck genius” (his words) and I totally agree with the latter.
Dr. David Jourdenais, Geneva Oaks: I am so grateful for Dr. J at Geneva Oaks, he is our “small animal” (dogs, cats, bunnies & bird) vet. He is brilliant and kind.
Dr. Brooke Richards: She is a brilliant vet. She is a specialist vet, she is kind and patient. She also gives our horses chiropractic adjustments. She cut the cancer spot off Nelson. She figured out Twilight’s lameness. It is a privilege that she comes to see us.
Robert Pelton, Pontell Insurance: Our commercial liability insurance agent. I can’t sleep unless Cheyne Ranch has insurance. We owe a lot to Rob. He has seen me at my worst when things were very confusing and stressful. He worked way too hard to find our little nonprofit insurance - so many companies said, NO! to offering us coverage (because horses are… a big risk!) Rob kept looking until we had a great option.
Wesley Whitson A/C: This air conditioning company is awesome. Owned by our incredible neighbor, we can’t say enough good things about Wesley and his staff.
Shaver Outlet: Owned by another awesome neighbor, this is where we purchase all our clipping supplies for our furry animals.
Todd Gelm, Todd & Son Tractor Services: Todd is an awesome guy who has been helping us with his fleet of super cool land moving machines since we moved to our 5 acres in 2016. His opinion is important to how we manage our land. He and his wife also own Geneva Beef!
Shawna Schoenfeldt: This mama runs our Farmyard Explorers program (which is SOLD OUT 2 years in a row), and she is so lovely. She teaches me so much with her patience, her kindness, her creativity. and she takes so many of our photos.
Mavis Auto of Oviedo: Well, specifically the manager Damon Laffrey. We have been going to him for over 14 years for all our car repairs - and it has always been a good experience.
Anthony’s Pizza in Oviedo: Such good food, and they give us a discount when we are feeding groups here at Cheyne Ranch (such as Treasures or Kids’ Night Out)
Atticus Print Shop: we buy our white t-shirts from this awesome place in Oviedo!
Seminole Appliance Repair: This is owned by our friend Michael Rice and it is so nice to have a reliable company to call when things break.
Ace Hardware: our local Oviedo hardware store
Sometimes, we receive a nonprofit discount and the companies ask that we mention their product on our webpage, so roll the credits please!
