Our Vision

To serve as a nonprofit model for our local community and beyond by offering services by licensed therapists, certified educators and recreational directors who work in partnership with animals and farmsteads to provide safe, accessible and purposeful outdoor programs.

Origin Statement (2017)

To immerse the Cheyne family children in the physical and mental health benefits of responsibly providing positive and healthy lives for our animals.

Welcome!

Welcome to Cheyne Ranch! We believe in the power of connection. We are a community where people of all abilities, all backgrounds, all kinds of neurodiversities, can come together to experience the joy of the outdoors, learn about animal care, and celebrate our unique selves.

As a non-profit organization, we strive to create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. We believe in making sure everyone has the chance to experience the joy of animal care, which is why we offer scholarships and strive to create an accessible environment for all. Come join us and discover the magic of Cheyne Ranch.

PALS: People & Animal Learning Success

The “formal” word for this service is known as Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) or Animal Assisted Learning (AAL). PALS at Cheyne Ranch is an opportunity to work toward a set of learning goals while in the company of our animals.

Gather your family and get out of the house and off the screens! Schedule a visit to our breezy barn and spend hands-on time loving and learning with our horses, bunnies, goats, chickens, pigs, barn cats, farm dogs, and usually a guest appearance by at least one of the four Cheyne teenagers. This structured, hands-on guided tour lasts approximately 60 - 75 minutes and kids usually sit on a pony* for a hand-led ride during our nature walk.

*Depending on conditions including weather, pony health, child’s weight and temperament.
