I’m a lazy memory keeper

I want to capture this time in my family’s life. Together, we are all learning how to love and care for our 2 dogs, 4 cats, 1 bunny, 4 horses, 13 chickens and 1 gecko. It is beautiful, hilarious, dirty, sometimes mundane and always intimidating to be responsible for so many lives.

The Cheyne Ranch journey began in July 2016 when we moved from lovely subdivision suburbia to our newly purchased a home on 5 acres. The kids were ages 7, 8, 10 and 10 at that time. They are at such an ideal age to learn and more importantly, love, this ranch life. I am learning because as a 40 year old software trainer, my head has been in front of a computer for all my working days over the past two decades. My husband is learning because he is also a software guy, but it turns out his weekends now are dominated by animal caretaking and chores at the ranch (thanks babe).

The purpose of this Facebook page is to get some of the hundreds of photos off the cloud and into a timeline of stories. I’m a lazy memory keeper - and this seems like the easiest way to document our journey.

Mission Statement: To immerse my family in the physical and mental health benefits of responsibly providing positive and healthy lives for our animals.

Vision statement: To offer certified, licensed animal-assisted therapy to others who are seeking the therapeutic benefits that animals provide.
