Carvanning to Green Acres Farm
3 horses and 11 people (7 pictured) caravanned from Cheyne Ranch to Green Acres Farm of Oviedo / Geneva. It was a trial run to expose the horses to the super secret trail that connects our neighbors' properties so we can avoid walking on the main road. The horses did ahhhmazing and thanks to our fabulous neighbors, Randy for clearing the path and Scotty for leading us & clearing some more. All the people survived the marshy trail just fine too. I love my neighbors
Our herd of horses
Have you ever tried getting all of your children, or dogs or cats or whatever all in the same photo? This is the closest I can get with all 5 horses... Princess Buttercup, Pearl, Lucy & Nelson all waiting for Lujen to return from his walk.
Cheyne Ranch Helpers!
The students and teachers from the Florida Institute for Community Inclusion were so helpful with the barn chores, they refilled hay and water buckets and even swept the barn center aisle. Then we took Nelson and Princess Buttercup on a neighborhood walk.
Welcome Princess Buttercup!
Look who arrived at Cheyne ranch on Sunday, Feb 16th! We are so lucky to welcome Princess Buttercup into our herd! She is young, adventurous, super people loving and full of spunk. Within 5 minutes of being in our pasture she found an open gate and bolted half mile down the road to a neighbor's barn. It was a village effort to get her back home (the day 1 photos include Princess being very sweaty after quite a sprint, as well as Philip walking her out of the neighbors yard). Thankfully her lovely owner dropping her off was gracious and even helped us get her home after this gate mishap. Thank you to our fabulous neighbor Marian for connecting us with our new miniature, Princess!
50th Barn Tour
We celebrated our 50th barn tour today with the sweetest kids. And I learned about Twitch, like not the kind sometimes used on a horse. Now I'm cool because I know someone on twitch.
Barn Yard Equine - sister's therapy ranch in AZ!
Look! This is my sisters ranch in Arizona. I'm so proud and inspired by what she has created.
Every week, seven-year-old Benny Lieske and dozens of other children visit a special horse stable in Gilbert, Arizona for an hour of therapy while riding on a horse. The place is called Barn Yard Equine and the therapy is called hippotherapy, which combines horseback riding and traditional treatments to help improve coordination, balance, and strength for patients with disabilities.

Lucy is here!
Lucy arrived at Cheyne Ranch this afternoon! She is about 20 years old, a quarter horse and super relaxed. Welcome to the herd Lucy!
Special thanks Jenna Douglas @ Woodbury Farms for trailering her for us and just being with us this afternoon!
